Mick reports from Barber Connect 2023!

It’s a surreal experience revisiting the industry that I started out in (men’s grooming products) nearly 40 years ago. When I first started in business, there was nobody really doing this type of thing, and it’s lovely to see that the industry has gone from strength to strength. Innovation coupled with good old fashioned customer service has seen this sector of the industry expand beyond most people’s visions.

Telford is the centre of the country, and last weekend saw it become the centre of barbering, with the Barber Connect exhibition.
You can’t go far at a trade without seeing the big fella Adam Sloane!
Keeping the party swinging here, Kevin Vorley working for Andi’s, promoting the latest tool of the trade and giving it the big ‘un
Promoting the new gorilla glue products!
Myself with Phil Smith. He runs the Gamma Piu operation, a very busy stand with ambassadors to help in deciding which clipper is best for you.
I drove through seven counties to get to Telford! I got caught up in monsoons and roadworks, but it was worth it lol
Lots of additional services adding to the income, health and wellbeing for their clients.

The event was lovely – not too congested, with good air circulation on one of the hottest days of the year. There were lots of demonstrations to view and inspirational insights to be had – attending an event like this should be a must for any barber or hairdresser.
