Powertools – The Color And Lightener Accelerator (TCA) is a hair colour additive that slows down the processing of hydrogen peroxide while driving colour molecules deeper into the hair shaft.
118ml (4 oz) is enough for approximately 176 applications.
The formula’s antioxidant (Vitamin E) allows the TCA to help develop the colour molecules completely in less time.
The Jojoba & Mineral Oil conditions and moisturises the hair and scalp therefore leaving the hair in fabulous condition.
Powertools – The Color And Lightener Accelerator processes permanent colour, semi-permanent colour, demi colour, bleach, foil. It also high lifts applications in 4 to 10 minutes when added to any manufacturer’s products in conjunction with low heat (for super resistant hair allow 12-14 minutes).
FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY
What are the benefits of using TCA in the salon?
- No extra new lines or shelf space needed
- No education needed on using new brands in salon.
- No formula changes needed, and experimentation on regular clients liking their regular servicing and hair colour.
In most cases, regular Hair colour being used is less expensive to use than newer fast colour products, saving colourist money.
Hairdressers using TCA know their formulas.
For pennies per application, hairdressers can do regular time servicing, half time, or with heat, ten minute processing. The hairdresser dictates their servicing time and does not need different brands, dictating how to service clients and does not need more shelf clutter, education or experimentation.
90% of the busy hairdressers making and spending money are older and want “easy”.
Anyone not buying fast hair colour or oil based colour can upgrade their in-salon existing salon colour and bleach using TCA.
Your Questions and Answers
- When doing a regrowth colour, how do you process the mid length & ends according to time?
If using separate formulas or two bowls, mix TCA separately, and if using a cap, halve the normal processing time. If using cap and low heat, 1/3 of the time with a cool down of 5 minutes. - If you are just mixing a fashion tone and have no base for mid-length & ends, do you include TCA?
You certainly can – it’s all natural oils that will add all the benefits except for the faster processing time unless you use a cap or low heat. - When it says 2 ounces, does that include peroxide?
The TCA when added is TOTAL FORMULATION. So YES, formulas/instructions on the box include colour and peroxide. - How do you use TCA in relation to perms, what does it do and how?
You would use in the Neutralizer to give better perm retention and again all the other benefits including excellent condition of the hair. - How do you use TCA with bleach and scalp bleach, and how does it actually speed it up?
Same as colour, Cap (Body Heat) – halve the time. Cap w/ Low Heat – 1/3 of the time. Typically 17-20 drops in the lightener & peroxide. - Does Powertools work with 10-minute colours?
If asking about TCA, it does, as long as its not an oil based colour. You will only get extra conditioning benefits on oil based colours. All other products will work the same as per package instructions. - What happens by slowing down the hydrogen peroxide process?
It allows the colour to process more evenly, penetrate better and last longer. - How does it eliminate fading of colour?
It eliminates residual peroxide which causes hair to fade. - How does it improve grey coverage.
When using a cap or low heat, the cuticle opens to allow colour to penetrate deeper and give a longer lasting colour result and because of the proprietary blend of oils, it gives extreme condition which allows you to safely use heat with hair colour. - How long is cooling down period?
Usually 5 Minutes - How many drops are in a millilitre?
Approximately 20. - How does it not over-process the hair?
With all colour you still need to be attentive and check processing! - How does it work as an intense moisturising treatment? It also says 20 drops, but how much conditioner?
The proprietary blend of oils, highest grade of Vitamin E, olive oil, Jojoba oils mixed with the conditioner gives an amazing intense treatment, you can even use a cap for even better results. 20 drops to 2-4oz of conditioner typically but this will also depend on the length of hair.
